Studying at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Law, Samuel Ellis maintains an active profile on grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia, with responsibilities such as an editorial board member of the school's international law journal. As part of his studies at UVA Law, Samuel Ellis interned with Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and gained insight into the criminal justice system.

Mr. Ellis' activities as an international affairs undergraduate in Georgia included a role as poll manager, ensuring that his precinct was set up for early voting. Guiding phone banking sessions, he also ensured volunteers were fully trained and able to assist potential voters. He also interned with a United States Senator and focused on economic development and current event research. Corresponding with state corporations and constituents, he helped ensure that vital economic interests were identified and responded to.

Committed to addressing persistent social issues, Mr. Ellis has also interned with the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia. Managing various campaign initiatives, he contacted eligible voters and ensured they could access absentee ballots. His responsibilities have also included the training and phone banking of volunteers. The focus was ensuring they could actively communicate ACLU values over the phone.
